Third verse, same as...every other one

Alright, I had to make sure it was crap.

MELODRAMA!!!! OMG ITS A FREAKING SOAP OPERA, AND NOT IN A GOOD WAY!!!
They seemed to be obsessed with 'docu-style' camera moves too. Someone forget to tell them that its not the camera that made BSG and District 9 more 'real', it was the FREAKING SCRIPT. The fact that everything, including sets and characters and plots all followed the same idea of reality is what really made the shows. Stargate has really never had that going for them. Sure, SG-1 was based in the real world, and in general (seasons 4 &5 of Atlantis notwithstanding), the characters and plots were, in the world of the show, realistic. Not on SGU. Oi. Horrible stereotyping in my opinion, the only exception perhaps being the Senator, who wasn't really that believable anyways, not to mention that he dies. The plot was almost a word- for- word copy of the pilot for Stargate: Atlantis, complete with 'Oh no, we are going to drown!' except this time its 'Oh no, we are going to suffocate!' The few plot points that could pull it away from this form were ridiculous and unbelievable, such as a gamer solving a mathematical proof in ancient (which they really didn't explain, what was the proof and what was it really for?) and a properly timed attack? And who would let a crazy scientist gate them to a place they know NOTHING about?

Sigh.

The one good thing is that it really made me want to watch The Rising again. And read more sparky fanfics. ELIZABETH IS SO KICK ASS!

That is all.
